The New Hyde Park North Little League is proud to offer our Challenger Softball Program for special needs children and adults with physical and mental challenges. This will be our 35th year offering this program. The program features experienced coaches, high school and college students who give individual instruction to your child. We have two teams, and depending on the child’s age and ability they will be placed accordingly. In addition to the weekly practice we will try to play a few games with other Challenger softball programs. We will also participate in the Annual Nassau County Challenger Softball Tournament in the spring and Challenger Jamboree in the fall.

We accept children with physical, mental and emotional disabilities, from mild to severe. The young team will have girls and boys ranging in ages from 5 to 19 years old. The adult team has players from 19 years old and up. The cost is $70.00, which includes a team shirt, hat and trophy. We practice at the Merillon Field complex located on Marcus Avenue between Lakeville Road and New Hyde Park Road on Friday nights, from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. We have two seasons: spring and fall. The spring season starts Friday, April 10th, and finishes Friday, June 26th. The fall season starts Friday, September 4th and finishes on Friday, October 16th.
